With the HÅG Capisco, you're not only investing in your health, but also in the environment. The Norwegian manufacturer Flokk aims to produce this chair with a significantly reduced carbon footprint. At every stage of the manufacturing process, careful consideration is given to the environmental impact of each decision.
Flokk primarily uses recycled materials such as plastic, aluminum, and steel. Materials containing pollutants that could release volatile organic compounds (VOCs) are avoided. At the same time, only high-quality components are used, ensuring a particularly long lifespan.
The Capisco's design prioritizes simplicity: fewer components mean fewer tools, lower energy consumption, reduced packaging, and streamlined processes. And should a repair ever be necessary, the chair can be easily disassembled into its individual parts.
Few components
The best solutions are often the simplest – fewer components mean fewer tools, fewer processes, less packaging, and less energy consumption. The HÅG Capisco has been continuously developed since 1984; a redesign in 2006 significantly reduced materials and components, for example through the use of recycled plastic and a simplified backrest with only 6 parts instead of 19.
Recycled Materials
Through ongoing research and partnerships, we are increasing the proportion of recycled materials in our products – without compromising on quality. This allows us to avoid waste, reduce CO₂e emissions, and save energy by using recycled plastic, steel, and aluminum.
Long Lifetime
HÅG's high-quality, durable designs are engineered for intensive daily use in the workplace and built to last. Wear parts are easily replaceable, and spare parts and repair instructions are available online.
The timeless aesthetic also contributes to longevity – with the aim that HÅG chairs never go out of style and therefore never end up in the trash prematurely. HÅG rigorously tests its products and is one of the few manufacturers to offer up to a 10-year guarantee – many components are even designed for longer use.
Easily disassembled
At the end of their life cycle, the thoughtful design of HÅG products allows for easy disassembly, enabling components to be separated by type and recycled. In contrast, permanently glued or inaccessible parts usually end up in landfills. All new HÅG designs are carefully crafted to ensure that most components can be easily removed with common tools – for straightforward repairs and recycling.
